I ran for the first time in my life today. I am running a 4 mile race in July so I have to run everyday so I can make sure I finish the race in a okay time. I am so excited. This will be a real turning point for me in my life. No more fear allowed here. I am free from this point on. Wish me luck!!!!!!
Good luck, you will do awesome!

ReplyDeleteWay to go! You will do great!
ReplyDeleteRunning! Not my strong suit but I have always wanted to run some sort of race too. Good luck with it! I bet it feels great after your run.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get this, I don't know how else to reach you. So to get Scarlet diagnosed, it was a little process. You need to find a place that gives courtesy blood draws. Most people won't take your blood and send it to a different lab- there's liability issues. But the hospital lab technician knew where to go. I went to INOVA, I don't know if they're a chain or just one. I was supposed to oder a kit from Igenex, but didn't realize it. But the lab was great and worked it all out for me. Get on the Igenex website and get a kit for the Lyme panel. There are 2, I got the more intensive one. And then you take your kit to the blood draw place and they do the rest, or give it to you to send yourself. But even sending it can be a problem, because it's blood. So try to get the lab to mail it for you. I don't know. I tried Fed Ex and they sent me away. I emailed Igenex a bunch and they were great in getting back to me with the info I needed, so don't hesitate to ask them. Then my pediatrician read the labs wrong and I thought they might so I sent them to my sister's doc (who is a lyme literate doctor) and she diagnosed Scarlet with lyme, by reading her labs and listening to her symptoms. It was all over the phone. You'll need to talk to a lyme literate doctor, there aren't a lot. You could probably find a list if you google it, if you can't, Dan or I could direct you. There's likely none in your area. Basically, if you want to get treated, it's gonna be a big pain and a lot of money- but worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteOkay yeah Megan said a lot...but you NEED to get tested by IGENEX. Have you gotten tested and sent to them? Order THEIR LABS. They are trained...if you think you have it, KEEP TRYING. You might consider seeing a lyme literate doc. I agree iwth Megan- it's a huge pain and a huge road...but worth it. Clay and I always say, "wow- this is so amazing...can you remember when it was so bad?". Our life is SO MUCH LIGHTER. That's the best way to describe it. And we aren't even done with treatement yet. SO it's just gonna get better. But I don't knwo if you've done igenex labs or not...but if you haven't- DO THOSE. Also, don't be on any meds when you do the labs...for like 2 weeks. If you can handle that. I don't know if you are on any, but they can mess up results. Good luck! email me with any questions, it's so much easier for me to respond that way :) daniellephillipp (at) gmail (dot) com
